LOCKDOWN JUDO AND JIU-JITSU

James has been involved in the martial arts and sports of Kodokan Judo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and submission grappling for over 15 years and has been the owner and head instructor at Lockdown Judo and Jiu Jitsu since 2006. James is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt under Master Carlos Machado and a Kodokan Judo Nidan (Second Degree Blackbelt) through the United States Judo Association (USJA) and USA Judo (USJI). He began his training at the age of 8 in Kodokan Judo at a YMCA in Charlotte, NC, and since then has trained under some of the best instructors around the world in Kodokan Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu from the United States to the United Kingdom. He began his training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2009 under David Meyer and John Will (Machado Blackbelts - members of the BJJ Dirty Dozen) from whom he earned his Blue belt in 2010, and earning his Black Belt in 2016 from Prof Kevin "Conan" Bankens.  Previously competing in Kodokan Judo successfully, he remains actively competitive in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu today, continuing his training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Master Carlos Machado, 8th Degree Black Belt and Head of the RCJ Machado Jiu Jitsu Association.  James is a Quality Assurance professional in the Nuclear Industry with a degree in Electronic Engineering Technology. He is employed by URENCO USA as a Senior Nuclear Quality Engineer.
