Lockdown Judo and Jiu Jitsu is Carlsbad, New Mexico's ONE AND ONLY martial arts academy with ranked and certified Black Belt instructors in BOTH Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Kodokan Judo.
Lockdown Judo and Jiu Jitsu offers one of the most comprehensive Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Kodokan Judo programs in Southeast New Mexico, with classes 5 days a week in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Kodokan Judo for both children and teen/adults.
Since the dojo's beginnings, we have maintained a membership of students from all areas of the Carlsbad community including law enforcement officers, local physicians, parents, teachers, and numerous junior students. The dojo has a top of the line Swain mat system with sub flooring providing one of the safest floor systems available for the practice of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Kodokan Judo, and submission grappling. The dojo also has a comfortable lobby where parents and visitors can relax, talk, and watch without disruption to the class.

Lockdown Jiu Jitsu is an official RCJ Machado affiliate school, and part of the RCJ Machado Jiu Jitsu family with our lineage tracing directly to Carlos Machado and the Machado Brothers. The RCJ Machado Association is headed by the highest ranked Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Instructor in the Southwest, 8th Degree Black Belt Carlos Machado. An icon to the world of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Carlos Machado is nephew to one of the founders of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, late master Carlos Gracie. After learning from his cousins from the Gracie family, and his brothers the Machado’s (Roger, Rigan, Jean Jacques and John), Carlos keeps the legacy going, and saves no effort in making his students among the best in the world.

Lockdown Jiu Jitsu is affiliated with both United States Judo Incorporated (USJI) and the United States Judo Association (USJA). We are a USJA Charter Club. The USJA has an elaborate rank promotion system that covers a wide range of Judo techniques. Kodokan Judo Rank promotions at the Lockdown follow the guidelines of the USJA, and all promotions are done only through the USJA. This ensures the validity of your rank and its recogntion world wide in all Judo organizations. All Lockdown students are required to become a member of the USJA
